Thinking back to last year's Bob Sharp show, here are my random thoughts about your situation with your car: From a purely financial standpoint, you will never get back what you put into the car. Nor will you find another car at your level of performance for a price that you can afford if you sell the one you have. Last year there were 11 Z's of all stages of modification caravanning with you to the Bob Sharp show. You were in front. Everyone respects the hell out of your car, and we are in awe of the fact that you have put a tremendous amount of time, effort, and money into your car. Your OWN time, effort, and money, let me add- you are the poster boy for every privateer showing in Ultra Modified, who doesn't have corporate sponsorships or a @*#( trailer to drive their cars to the shows. You know who I'm referring to. Don't let the trailer queens win! Your girlfriend got up early with you after being at a wedding the night before to come and freeze with us at the Bob Sharp show. You don't see that every day. As you say, you may be getting to the point where you don't want to compete so much anymore, but it was certainly evident to all of us last fall that it was in your blood and you really got a charge out of showing the car. For all that, I hate to say it, but if you decide to sell the car now is a good time to do so. I bet that the sales of ultra modified cars of all types will benefit from the release of 2Fast, 2Furious this summer. Find a rich guy who wants a piece of the import tuner action and make him cough up big $$ for your ride. It is ultimately your decision, but I am surprised to hear that you are considering selling your car. :Don't get me wrong I love my car but days like these make me wonder if it's worth keeping. :I was on my way to a car show today at Lime Rock CT. and I stopped to get gas. I got back in the car and the starter froze on me. There goes another $300-350. Plus it was embaressing have people push my car to get it going. :I always seem to have problems. Their not always major problems but just annoying and sometimes embaressing. So far this year alone, I've have a fuel line clamp brake while driving, bent one of my 18" rims, leaky clutch piston while driving, shot fuel pump, and it only May. :I won't go into last year. :My question is when should I stop? I have put over $40k into it that I won't ever get it back. I really don't want to sell it. I love driving it when things are good and love showing it at shows. I have won plenty of trophies so I like to just hear peoples comments on the car. Plus I'm getting to the age that I don't have time to go to shows all the time anymore. :Is this car just going to be a constant replace this and repair that? It's a 90 with 75k miles. And it seems that everything is starting to wear out. :I want to keep the car as is now. I don't mind doing maintenance on the car but things have started to get out of control. : :My other question would it be better to sell thing off the car or just sell as is? Just curious, how much as is and how much if I had just the kit, rims, and detailed engine bay? Check profile, Thanks Rob
